I had just got back into X-Men with Morrison's run, coincidentally, which ended right before Astonishing began. I passed on it, and started getting it in trades. It was one of those books I couldn't wait for anymore. I had to have each new issue, even if it took forever, and it did. The Kitty/Pitor stuff felt so genuine. Plus, her phasing through the floor while doing it was hilarious. Speaking of Morrison and Quitely . . . I love Batman and Robin. I've been reading Batman off and on for 20 years. This book is great. It's so nice to see new villains too. More comic creators need to CREATE. The sound effects that are embedded into the art add to the overall fun of the book. As a vegetarian, I love the Cap/Deadpool gag (no pun intended). Where did that come from? Have you read Ex Machina? I can't recommend that book enough. I started getting it in trades and couldn't wait any longer - had to start getting the individual issues. It's only got about 8 issues left. Pick it up - the first book will hook you. Oh, and since you left the bait - you're wrong - All Star Superman is one of the greatest Superman stories ever. The story with the Supermen from the future (#4?) was the one that did it for me.
