THE TOP 40 T.V. THEMES EVER–#29: ONE DAY AT A TIME

“Walk on your feet, somewhere there’s music playin’!” This song was really pretty preachy, and this is an example of a theme that really has nothing to do with the show itself. I mean, the theme almost sounds like gospel but the show was as white as white could be, even with Mackenzie Phillips (who sang on the theme). For you youngsters, Mac was the daughter of one of the Mamas and the Papas, one of the 1960s druggiest bands, and was the foul-mouthed little girl responsible for this clip from American Graffitti:

I Was a Dirty Bird.
