ROCafella said:

Jay-Z the best rapper alive. period.

Nobody else has as much of a deadly combination of lyrics, flow, years of relevance, classics albums (Blueprint, The Black Album, and Reasonable Doubt) and influence as he does.

He turned crack rocks into a multi-million dollar empire.

“Treat my first like my last and the last like my first and my thirst is the same as- when I came. ”

“He who does not feel me is not real to me, therefore he does not exist. so pooof, vamoose, son of a bitch.”

No matter what anybody says or believes Jay’s message is a good one.

Someone give this guy a gold medal.

this list was not all that bad, some of the guys could have been taken off... For one, I don't even consider Akon or Timbaland a rapper. And a few others who I just simply don't believe are all that overrated. But when I reached #1 I clinched my fist and said "YESSSSS". Without a fucking doubt!!!!

I love Blockhead. Actually did a very long feature on him a while back. But I don't love Aesop. If you dig abstract rap, more power to you. But all his albums sound the same.

Not sure why you feel the need to say "F U". Are you so insecure about your own opinion that you cannot support it with argument, or allow for disagreement, such that you must personally attack the speaker? Well, don't feel bad about it--lots of folks are neurotic and lack integrity and self-confidence. Mostly, they work for Fox News.

Dude you are so off point with aesop rock and buck 65. First off Blockhead is one of the illest producers out there in the underground and his sound evolves and matures over aesops discog. I'll give you that alot of aesops songs can be very similar and abstract but have you actually sat down and read and re read his lyrics, there is some amazing shit in there, it may not be a cohesive story all the time but damn some beautiful lines. People don't want to take the time to listen hard and dissect poetry anymore, nevermind read it and aesop and buck are fuckign poets homeslice, sorry its over your head. Buck has some weak shit but once again, some amazing production throughout his albums, some of my favorite songs by him come from the 90's some from a year ago. finally, eminem? SLUG? EL-P? damn kid the exact criticisim you have about aesop and buck having the same sound is so much more evident in your "better White emcees" (as if I seperate my white rap from my black)
