Has anyone else heard about this? See http://www.spinner.com/2009/09/10/phil-collins-may-never-drum-again-due-to-spinal-injury?icid=main|main|dl2|link6|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spinner.com%2F2009%2F09%2F10%2Fphil-collins-may-never-drum-again-due-to-spinal-injury
Apparently the 58 year old Phil Collins may never play the drums (or the piano) due to a vertebrae injury (possibly due to poor drumming posture during Genesis' 2007 World Tour). Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be true.

You probalby heard of Daryl Stuermer, a guitarist and bassist who worked whit Collins a lot. If not, check out his "cover" of "Land Of Confusion". His corresponding Genesis cover album is worth a listen as well.
Nice post anyway

Actually, Alcazar's cover is called "The World We Live In." But you're right, it is a cover of Land of Confusion.

As a Phil Collins fan you may already be aware of "Urban Renewal," a soul tribute to Phil including Kelis singing "I Don't Care Anymore" and Ol' Dirty Bastard (!) performing "Sussudio." By the way, I'm guessing you inadvertently mentioned "This Is The World We Live In" as a Genesis song when actually it's a line from the very song you were discussing, "Land Of Confusion." Great post - thanks.

Uh, no, Michael. Collins was a drummer with Genesis, but in his solo career, he often played piano. I saw him play an acoustic In The Air Tonight, as a matter of fact. He is arguably better known as a pianist, due to his solo work.

–"it’s easy to forget how flippin’ huge the bald pianist was back in the ’80s".

Ah sorry but,The Collins plays the drums..
No wonder you like Collins' solo stuff better than Gabriel's..
That's just crazy talk..
Or,maybe your guilty pleasure is really Tony Banks.. ;)
