SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

Best movie of the summer (damning with faint praise).
Third best movie of the year (so far).
I don’t know why the critics are slamming the script. I thought it was witty and stylish, as well as eye-inspiring.
I should note, though, that I don’t read the comic.

Saw it twice myself, though admittedly that was mainly because i was bored that weekend. They only borrow loosely from most of the books, so you don’t have to have read them to enjoy (but it doesn’t hurt, and while the movie indeed is a lot of fun, the graphic novels are even better).

Do yourself a favor and buy the books! I bought the first three in a combo pack @ Borders for super cheap (because of a coupon) and was hooked. I re-read all six books the day before seeing the movie.
I actually thought the film received mostly good reviews though. It’s a tough sell, they probably should have released it in January or February when there’s less competition. It’s unfortunately gonna get lumped in w/The Losers and Kick-Ass (I liked both of those movies too); comic books that financially failed.
