THE NATIONAL RIFLE-Vanity Press (EP)

Posted on August 2nd, 2010 by ekko

The National Rifle’s fourth EP, Vanity Press is due out Aug. 31. One wonders how they can run a band-business on EPs, but this probably sums it up:

“We’re doing this because we don’t give a shit if we’re a hundred years old and still have to work day jobs to drive 18 hours to New Orleans for a show over the weekend. We’re investing our lives in this because it’s the only thing we care about.” – Hugh (the band’s frontman).

She’s a Waste

Tour dates:

  • 08.06 – 08.08 Hannah Fest Newton, NJ
  • 08.19.10 Pet Cemetary Baltimore, MD
  • 08.28.10 Kung Fu Necktie Philadelphia, PA
  • 09.19.10 Restuarant Festival West Chester, PA
  • 11.13.10 Johnny Brenda’s Philadelphia, PA

NEW BIG PROOF!

Eminem’s best pal–yeah, the dude played by Mekhi Phifer in the 8 Mile movie–finally (posthumously) releases “Time Will Tell,” written and recorded in 24 Hours.” Proof was truly one of the best (although I though Obie was the best Em crewmember of all).

  • Berkeley Place is also 6 blocks of Brooklyn real estate, emerging from Sackett St. and ending at Banana Hill, a small park that grows a foot each year from dog shit and the corpses of dead rats. Though its residents have gotten wealthier over the decades, Berkeley Place still houses folks of all backgrounds with interests in, well, everything.

  • WHAT THE HELL IS INDIE MUSIC? An independent record label (or indie record label) is a record label operating without the funding of or outside the organizations of the major record labels. - Wikipedia.org That means they ain't in the RIAA, dude.

HOW CAN I GET IN ON THIS?

    • Email me
      for the specifics but, basically:
    • I listen to all submissions of entire albums, not songs or compilations.
    • With rare exceptions I will not review material protected by the RIAA. So Sony, BMG, etc., don't start sending me crap. I'm not interested.
    • I don't listen to streams.
    • I won't read online comic-books. I may read .pdfs. I will read all hardcopy submissions.
    • I will review only submissions that I can recommend. I'm not here to do negative reviews.
    • Contact me to tell me to remove something. I'll take it down within 24 hours.
