Hello
I’m a music fan just like you, with a bit of OCD I think, also just like you.
I’m writing to you about one of my favorite bands. They’re called The Lightning Bug Situation.
The main guy in the group is also Jolie Holland’s guitar player and is all over her last three albums. He’s the real deal. Now I know you don’t like MySpace but this page actually has no music on it yet:
http://www.myspace.com/thesolarisbugsituation
Yes, I swear there is a correlation just like frickin Dark Side of the Moon and Wizard of Oz and I think once the new album comes out AND you listen to it while watching the 1972 Solaris with the sound off you will be blown away. Much like I was. And maybe by the time the album comes out the band will admit to there actually being a correlation–I mean, c’mon–there totally is!
Thanks for reading, you’ve got a superb blog.

There is this guy I know who just cut an EP. I work with him. Really ought to check him out. He’s a 1 man musical band. He’s cut the whole EP solo. The name he goes by is Astrobotica Supra’ De Nova. Google it. It’s just simply music. No lyrics, but still something incredible about it.
Signed,

I am a novice to WordPress. I am setting one up for an 11th grade English class. 2 questions have arisen from the teacher that I cannot anwser. How do I load pictures to the site, is there any way to comment on a comment to get a thread going between say 2 or 3 students. Where is a good place to go to find out this info for someone who is WP challenged.

Chip-
I didn’t answer your questions before, did I?
There’s a button to upload pictures on the page when you are posting.
As for comments, you just commented and now I’m commenting. Not sure exactly what you mean.

My name is Paul and I and a couple of other guys run Exit Stencil Recordings in Cleveland. Our website is http://www.exitstencil.org
We are particularly excited about a couple of our bands -
Blake Miller who is young but incredibly prolific. His music gets better every day it seems.
http://www.myspace.com/burntape try “long hair” this will be on his next release.
The New Lou Reeds have been making some waves with “Bury Me with My Bong”. This is NOT a drug glorification song – one look at the band and the message is clear “kids, stay away from drugs!”

Julian Cope says:
I gots to say the English summer got off to an appalling start what with the downpours throughout the Solstice and the iron gauntlet with which the fuzz chose to police Glastonbury and Avebury. Even for we locals, Avebury was impenetrable as hoards of boys in blue did everything in their power (and more) to keep ye heathens at bay. Instead of hanging at the stones with the revellers, I chose to stay in and get para-munted with The New Lou Reeds’ amazing ‘Bury Me With My Bong’ playing on endless rotation.

quite a nice little site with quite a few bands i haven’t heard of. that is a good thing. i have
the hardest time listening to any type of mainstream music. I see there are bands that i do like myself, Modest Mouse , The Pixies, and The EEL’s. favorite EEL’s song used to be
I Like Birds. I guess that must be the perv in me., but after watching The Great White i must say that I Want to Protect You is pretty good too.
keep up the good work

Dude, I’ve been getting lots of e-mails from you, too. I don’t do myspace and I only review albums. I’ve sent you my submission criteria, and that’s the best way to get to me. I get sent dozens of albums a week, so I can’t review everything.

I would love to hear your thoughts on The Historic’s new album, “Addressing a Mighty Wind”. I was wondering if you could send me your submission criteria or just check out tracks from the album at http://www.sonicbids.com/thehistoric or on myspace if you’d prefer? I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Dear Friend at The Captains Dead,
Would the music of Hannah Speirs kind of interest you at all ?
Her sound is kind of like Sufjan Stevens,Feist and Sarah McLaughlin combined..she is only 18 btw..
Her EP The View was officially launched quietly in mid August this year 2009
I am seriously looking for any kind of feedback and an honest review of her music would be cool.
Her EP can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/hannahspeirs
Cheers,
Iain Speirs

Ekko,
My name is Mike Corbett, and I am the lead singer of Midnight Spin. We are a Williamsburg, Brooklyn rock band who have been touring around the country these past few months in support of our debut EP, Through the Mojo Wire. The album was produced by our friend Nic Hard (The Bravery), and we are currently working on our first-ever music video for our debut single, In the Air (Revival). We have upcoming shows at the Mercury Lounge this Sunday and at Santos Party House on December 11. I am writing in the hopes that you would give our music a listen and a possible review, as we are looking for as many reviews as possible in our run-up to our SXSW application. Keep up the good work, you can find links to our EPK and MySpace below:
