LOADS OF FUN STUFF!

Posted on May 5th, 2010 by ekko

Here’s four great reasons to have ears:

1.  Young Jeezy-Trap of Die volume 2.  The first Jeezy “Trap or Die” was probably one of the greatest mixtapes of all time.  Cop the sequel here.  Thanks to 2dopeboyz.

2. And while you’re listening to mixtapes, Nappy Roots are back. They’re an uneven group, but I bet there’s at least a few cool tunes on their new mixape titled, “Nappy University.” Get it here from mediafire.

3. Regular readers know I’m a huge fan of the Clash. Haven’t posted on them in a looooong time. Shame on me. But Cover Me is atoning for my sins, posting covers of every song on the brilliant London Calling album. Of course, none are as good as the originals, but that really isn’t the point, is it?

4. And on the completely opposite of the last post tip, Cover Lay Down offers folky covers of show tunes!

The Last Night London Burned

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I posted a boot of the Greatest Band Of All Time: The Clash.

This is a great boot of the first time Mick Jones and Joe Strummer played together in 20 years, at ActonTown Hall on November 15, 2002.  It’s Strummer and the Mescaleros until track 14, and then it’s Mick N’ Joe.  Dig it.
